#CONEXPLO26 offers the perfect framework to integrate the academic world with the hydrocarbon industry. The Exploration and Development Committee´s Academic Relations Sub-Committee promotes the participation of Geology, Geophysics, Oil Engineering and related careers in the Congress activities.
The Students Program has been designed to bring together students and the industry companies that will participate in the #CONEXPLO26, so that they can get to know the activities developed by both geoscience and engineering professionals within the hydrocarbon exploration and development areas.
The Organizing Committee has therefore drafted a scholarship program primarily designed for undergraduate students, as well as for sub-30 undergraduate students, teachers and tutors. Furthermore, the Students Program will encourage students attending the Congress, whether they’ve been granted a scholarship or not, to participate in the pre-Congress Field Trip to be organized by the Young Professionals Committee.
Terms and conditions are detailed below:
- Advanced students in Geology, Geophysics, Oil Engineering, and related careers, who attend academic Argentine institutions and colleges, may apply.
- Graduate students who are already taking master or doctorate courses, and who are under the age of 30 by the technical papers’ submission closing date may also apply.
- Anyone interested in applying will be required to submit a Certificate of Regular Student.
- Undergraduate students are required to submit an Extended Abstract in relation to any of the Congress topics, before the technical papers’ submission closing date. Extended Abstracts will have from 3 to 5 pages and follow the editorial standards. Extended Abstracts will be uploaded to the SISCON (“Call for Abstracts” tab), making sure that the option “Students program” is selected. Works selected by the Technical Committee will be exhibited during the Congress, in the Posters Session.
- Graduate students will be required to submit full technical papers. Therefore, they’ll meet the Congress’ general requirements and abide by the stipulated dates to submit Abstracts and Technical Works. The authors may choose to present their works either orally or through posters. The Technical Committee will decide whether to include them in the General Sessions or in the Symposiums, based on the work’s innovative quality.
- The Technical Committee will grant one (1) full scholarship to each accepted work, which may be taken by its first author or any of the participants thereof. Furthermore, an (1) additional registration scholarship will be granted to the tutor, teacher or professional who has led the speaker or team.
- Each full scholarship will include a free-of-charge registration to #CONEXPLO26, lodging and meals expenses during the Congress. Registration scholarships will only cover free-of-charge registration to #CONEXPLO26.
- A jury made up of three professionals from the industry will evaluate the works submitted the Posters Session and will select awarded rankings Nos. 1, 2 and 3.
- In view of the need to manage the scholarship availability based on the submitted works, the Technical Committee may accept any works that, even when not granted a scholarship, could be published as part of the Students Program.
It will be organized by the Young Professionals Committee. Participants will be required to meet the following conditions:
• Be an undergraduate or graduate student of the oil and gas industry-related careers.
• Be registered for the 12th CONEXPLO.
• Submit a Regular Student Certificate
